Not by default. The video is opened, transcribed, styled and exported inside your browser. It only leaves your device if you switch on cloud sync, use cloud transcription (audio only) or send a job through the Automation API.

You can paste your own Groq or Google Gemini API key in AI settings. The key stays in this browser (optionally encrypted with a passphrase) and requests go straight from your browser to the provider, never through CaptionTik’s servers. You pay the provider directly, often nothing on their free tiers.

Built for it. Whisper drafts the words and timings, then an accuracy pass fixes Hinglish spelling (“kya scene hai”, not garbled Hindi) and re-aligns every corrected word to the original timestamps. You choose Roman Hinglish or Devanagari output, and can add your own vocabulary for names and slang.

Plans and credit packs are priced in rupees and paid through Razorpay — UPI, cards and netbanking. Subscriptions renew monthly or yearly, and you can cancel any time from Billing; you keep your plan until the end of the paid period.

One-time top-ups for busy months. Each credit is one extra export on top of your plan’s monthly allowance, and credits do not expire with the month.

Yes. Send a video URL and a template, get back a captioned MP4 by polling or a signed webhook. API render minutes are included in Pro and Business.
